Glow fashions are not really my cup of tea, but I think it's nice that ladies in their 40s are being more adventurous. Japan is often a land of extremes for casual wear: either high fashion brands only, or pastel coloured fleeces from uniqlo with spongy looking shoes. While I prefer the former, such tastes are expensive. The latter are certainly a very depressing spectacle. In that respect, some modicum of variety or adventurousness, if it doesn't become too tacky is to be welcomed. That said, I would be really disappointed if my wife started dressing like a village peasant from the 14th century, a la Liniere.
